Please, Pretty Please, Let My People Go

2009_0123_clinton_bio_200_1US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced a shift in the strategy in requesting that two US reporters held by the North Korean government.  Now we will switch to a request for amnesty.  Please let them go even though they did whatever you say they did.

Legend has it that Moses approached the Pharaoh vis a vis the Israelites, he asked the Pharaoh to let them go.  It took ten plagues to convince him.

Recent and not so recent patterns of behavior by the North Koreans makes it highly unlikely that they will do anything without getting something in return.  Money, nuclear fuel or something else that we just are not willing to part may be the price for the “amnesty”.

Ronald Reagan suggested that when confronted by an adversary, it is best to negotiate from a position of strength.  Humble words backed by strength worked best then and perhaps, could be used today.

Begging and pleading with Kim has not worked.  We’ll see what happens next.

It is about time that we read something is going on to try to save these girls and get them released. I have been trying to find out what is going on with them but there is too much on the news about Michael Jackson I guess and no time for anything else these days. Do not get me wrong but I think it is all important to find out who helped in Michael Jacksons death but at this time these girls are still alive we hope and we need to try to save them and get them back home. I can only pray that we can get these girls back home safe. This goes to show it is just not safe to go anywhere out of the country any more.We need to all take a minute and pray that these girls get home safe very soon!

We already have robot-controlled locusts we can unleash on them. Only nine more plagues to go.
