Goodbye and Good Riddance

Now that Senator Arlen Specter has come out of the closet and admitted that he always remained a Democrat, we can get a little closer to that “transparency” thing Obama keeps talking about.

For conservatives in Pennsylvania, it will be a refreshing change to put up people who are in line with their core beliefs instead of gnashing teeth at roughly half of everything said and done by their incumbent Senator.  I now can be free of repeatedly sending the good Senator my reminders that his paraphernalia are not welcome in my home.  He will be sending his “crapola” directly to his democrat constituents instead.

To the Democrats who think they now can ram through all of their agenda, I have the following advice – buy lots of stomach acid reduction medication.  You will need it.

Arlen Specter is a master politician of the worst kind.  He makes no apologies about his Machiavellian character.  Whatever is in Arlen’s political interest is what Arlen will do.  Personal opinions are less relevant than you think.  He has little understanding of anything besides the sport of “lawyer-ball” and he uses his background as a prosecutor to the hilt.  He will fit in with the self-serving Cretans that run the majority party right now.

Benedict Arlen strangely admitted that polling data was a big factor in his decision to leave the GOP and return to his Democrat roots.  

The party has NOT shifted right, Mr. Specter.  Your own political fortunes made it clear that you needed a new path to retain your power. Principles are not part of your equation.  How can you say that the Republican party shifted right with McCain as the last GOP nominee for President? He was hardly a supply-side guy.  The reality is the fact that RINO politicians ruined the conservative nature of the Republican party and allowed the media to present the GOP as some sort of right-wing version of a fascist party USA.  Sarah Palin as the VP choice proved that the conservatives throughout the USA yearned for another Reagan conservative.  They are not looking for a flip-flopping, big government Democrat like you.  Please take Mr. Limbaugh’s advice and take John McCain, Olympia Snowe and any other weak-kneed RINO with you.

Mr. Specter – Your defection helps prove the axiom that McCain learned the hard way.  Why would any one vote for a Republican acting like a Democrat when you have a socialist running on the Democrat ticket already?

And you wanted to be my latex salesman?  I don’t think so…

Air Force One Buzzes NYC – FAA Next Thruth Squad Target?

President Obama was outraged that Louis Caldera, director of the White House Military Office approved a mission over New York City.

That mission was to take new photos of Air Force One flying over the same place that was hit by terrorists on airplanes in September of 2001.

Traumatized residents had flashbacks all over the New York and New Jersey area in range of the low flying aircraft.

The White House was quoted as being “annoyed” and “furious” that the FAA withheld informatioon about the photo shoot.

Two officials told CNN the White House Military Office was trying to update its file photos of Air Force One. The officials said the president was angry when he learned Monday afternoon about the flight, which sparked fear in the New York-New Jersey area.

“The president was furious about it,” one of the officials said. The incident outraged many New Yorkers, including Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

“First thing is, I’m annoyed — furious is a better word — that I wasn’t told,” he said, calling the aviation administration’s decision to withhold details about the flight “ridiculous” and “poor judgment.”

“Why the Defense Department wanted to do a photo op right around the site of the World Trade Center defies the imagination,” he said. “Had we known, I would have asked them not to.”

Chuck Schumer along with the cadre of local officials were all justifiably upset.  I expect that they will set up a blue ribbon investigation committee who will get to the bottom of how this sort of “torture” of American citizens could possibly happen.  Perhaps senator “leakey” Layhey can set up a truth squad to see how high up the chain of command this terrible incident goes.

Will we see government paid counselors descending into the area to help the citizens cope with their revived fears?  Don’t laugh, it could be another “shovel ready” project for Obama’s recession elixer to create jobs for social workers hit hard by the economic downturn.

I suggest that the shovel be the kind used by those who clean up after large mammals.

In any case – another historic first.

Overtaken by Events – Swine Flu Factor

As the world watches the swine flu outbreak in Mexico, let’s take a moment to look into the future.

As most prognosticators know, most predictions rely on historical analysis based on normal circumstances.  Unfortunately, outcomes are largely affected by major events.

On September 10, 2001 few Americans would have believed that we would be on war footing for the better part of the decade.  Many observers were skeptical about the prospects of a second term for George W. Bush given how close the election was in 2000.  A few years later, war influenced everything.

Most observers are saying that the economy is what will make or break the fortunes of Barack Obama given how it influenced the outcome of the election in 2008.  Don’t bet on that.

World events like war, or perhaps a world wide epidemic may indeed tell the tale.

We actually have two swine flu epidemics: One is viral and involves pig and bird flu strains, the other is pork spending driven with a hint of the communist illness that nearly ran the world to the brink just a scant few decades ago.

Obama’s administration has become adept at using “emergencies” to justify great power grabs.  They are using Bush’s template and then they apply it to any situation and helping to spread the panic button to enlarge the problem.  Once they say that the problem cannot be solved by conventional methods, Obama will seize control and demands that we must act now.

Twenty people have been confirmed to have contracted swine flu in the United States.  So far, no deaths are reported.  While the CDC should take precautions on something of this potential, let’s see if this is added to the justification about a fast track to socialized medicine with little transparency or debate.

Health Care Fast Track – This Means War

Democrats agreed to budget reconciliation -which signals that major health reform is likely to pass this summer and with this process, Republicans won’t be able to filibuster the legislation.

You realize, this means ….

Obama’s Tortured Agenda

Why has our hopeful new leader waffled on his vows to look forward and not back, to change politics as usual, and to break with the failed policies of the past?

Waffled, you say?

Waffled.

He was against releasing classified memorandums before he went ahead and released some of them.  He was against politicizing the issue before he politicized it by only releasing parts that look damning for Republicans in the eyes of the far left wing of the Democrat party.

He looks downright weak for doing so.  He looks like someone who will say whatever he thinks will make you like him and then gets bullied by staff, donors and fellow party members into doing the exact opposite of what he said he would (or wouldn’t) do.

So why would Obama do something that he knows will whip up the ire of Republicans, stir anti-war Democrats into a lynch mob calling for criminal prosecutions (before any evidence is presented) and generally weaken the US in front of the entire planet?

It is so simple the reason has evaded almost everyone.

Power.

All US Presidents have consolidated their power once in office, but this move by Obama, along with the emergency spending and efforts to nationalize key industries, will leave him firmly in political power for a very long time.

You see, Obama knows just how certain fellow Democrats will behave under certain circumstances.  So when the “torture” memos were released, he knew that there would be howls of protests from left and right.

He can play both sides against the middle because he holds all of the cards.

He can decide to release just what House Speaker Nancy Pelosi knew and when she knew it – if he wants to do so.  He can make damn sure that she gets her house members in line with whatever he wants.  Over in the Senate, perhaps he has less sway, because Senator Reid has been less hospitable to a “truth squad”.

Obama wants the following:

• Someone to muzzle Dick Cheney. If we get hit again by terrorists, the public will run back to him like the Brits ran to Churchill when they got nailed by Hilter and the National Socialist Party of Germany.  Obama cannot have that.  Keeping criminal charges hanging over someone’s head is a fine way to get a “no comment” going forward.  Luckily for us, the former VP is stubborn (and rich) enough to resist that plan.
• Keep Democrats in Line. If Obama has any turf wars ahead, he needs the GOP to look like the speed bumps – not divisions within his own party.
• Warn the GOP – don’t even THINK of looking into the Obama past and present illegal and/or unconstitutional activities or face the “truth squad”.
• Divert attention from Obama Administration activities. If everyone is waiting for perp-walks by former Bush administration officials, there won’t be any oxygen left to see what is happening right in front of everybody’s eyes – including:
  • Control of the Press.  Media Warning – Careful of Federal “Help”. Joe Biden is chairing a committee that will assess the viability of the “free press” given all of the newspaper company bankruptcies.  The “free press” as backed by a nationalized media czar will hardly be free.  Obama would love to be able to actively direct what your staff people transmit to the public.  The new version of the fairness doctrine will prove to be the last straw for a “free press” in the US.

That is why such a “smart” person like Barack Hussein Obama would walk right into the glass door on this issue.  His inexperience plays well here.   While even some in his own administration undoubtedly knew of and voted for war funding and authorizations of harsh interrogations but because he was in the Illinois Senate at the time, he has “clean hands”.

Remember, Hitler also served scant few months before taking over as the charismatic leader who had all of the right solutions to Germany’s ills.  Let’s just hope that the American people remember their history – or learn it really fast.
