Motorcycles – More Dangerous to Marines than Iraq

October 31, 2008

This is from CNN: More US Marine casualties on motorcycles than in Iraq over the last 6 months.  I thought the war was a failure?

Anyway, 25 deaths on motorcycles, 20 in Iraq.

Similar uptick in deaths among all branches of the military and (hold on – you might be knocked over) also for the general public.  Imagine that – soldiers actually behave like ordinary Americans doing the same stupid, risky things.

As a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, I know all too well what damage a sports cycle can do to the skull of a top rates Quarterback.

What is our “exit strategy” from these infernal machines?  Should we have a waiting period before selling them?  A national database?

Looks like a quagmire to me.

Early Voting in Florida: More Democrats Vote but McCain Leads

October 31, 2008

Strange but true.  Time reports that McCain could lose Florida because the Democrats outnumber Republicans in early voting.

But so far, McCain has an edge in their actual votes.

Is this a sign of just how bad the polling is?  Is this a sign of just how much the media try to will their desired result?

Perhaps it is just wishful thinking on my part.

Voter Fraud – Proof That CNN Cannot Ignore Forever

October 31, 2008

I know that the average age in some parts of Florida runs somewhere just south of Methuselah but once they assume room temperature they are supposed to lose their rights to vote.

Somehow, the people who run the polls neglect to check for a pulse.  Thousands of dead Floridians voted in 2004.  I wonder how many non existent people voted too.  Perhaps ACORN doesn’t intend to create fraudulent votes from the fraudulent registrations.  [I have my doubts about their concern for the sanctity of the electoral process]  That is what is happening.  Who knows how many are voting now.

Add to this the widespread use of electronic voting machines instead of the old fashioned mechanical or just plain paper ballots and you have the general perception that our voting system is seriously flawed.

So, to sum it up, there is a widespread lack of faith in our currency, financial systems, stock markets, electoral process and of course, elected officials.

Why am I not surprised that CNN has not jumped all over these kinds of stories until one week before election day?

Going Negative? Attention CNN: He IS a Socialist

October 29, 2008

CNN runs a story that states that “attacks” by John McCain that call Obama a socialist will backfire with independents.

If Obama has embraced socialism in his distant, not-so-distant and very recent past then why should it be considered an attack? Why isn’t it just a distinction between the two?

It used to be enough to call them liberals. It is not politically correct to do so anymore.

“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

– Norman Thomas, American socialist

Biden Gaffes Continue – Another Interview, Another Slip

October 28, 2008

Biden slipped up and admitted that the Obama tax plan will probably benefit far fewer than it will hurt when it helps to completely derail our economy.

More of the recycled clichés: the rich get all the tax breaks, blah, blah, blah.
